A cosmopolitan childhood and a passion for dance

Born in Sardinia of Tuscan and French origins, Roberto Baiocchi spent his childhood in Congo, an experience that shaped his cosmopolitan spirit. A melting pot of cultures that influenced his artistic journey. His passion for dance led him to train at the finest schools. In Florence, he attended the Daria Collin school, Antonietta Daviso di Charvensod's school, Vittorio Gassman's Bottega Teatrale, and the Maggio Formazione, laying the foundation for an eclectic career.

Nureyev and international training

A pivotal moment in Roberto Baiocchi's life was his encounter with the legendary Rudolf Nureyev in 1980, which was crucial to his career. His invaluable advice encouraged him to continue his studies and further his training abroad, studying with Rosella Hightower, in the class of Maestro José Ferran, and with numerous excellent teachers at the Centre de Danse International in Cannes, and even at the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monte-Carlo, thanks to the generosity of Marika Bezobrazova. This intense formative period led him to dance in Europe's most prestigious theaters, opening new horizons for his training and his professional artistic career as a solo dancer.

A successful author and promoter of the art of dance.

Roberto Baiocchi is also an accomplished writer, author of dance and ballet books and manuals translated into several languages, including "The Great Book of Dance" and "Ballerina," with a preface by Carla Fracci. He has made a significant contribution to the dissemination of the art of dance and is a point of reference for new generations.

"Dance is the highest expression of the soul, a universal language that transcends all barriers."
